Funny story and the best icebreaker we’ve heard in a long time to answer the question “how do I meet people on IMVU?” Take advice from iDezzBanks who says you need to make a statement, stand out, and be yourself. Her version of that was to dress her avatar like Lady Gaga, then head to chatrooms to make some friends. Did it work? You’ll have to ask her to find out — (22,400 followers later). 😉
In all seriousness, we caught up with iDezzBanks because as you know IMVU is hosting a community-wide fundraiser to raise money for the United Nations Foundation COVID 19 Solidarity Fund for the World Health Organization. 100% of proceeds will be donated to support WHO’s work to ensure patients get the care they need and medical workers get essential supplies and information. Though IMVU sold over 13K items over a weekend, our real hero is iDezzBanks who donated 15 Million of her own Credits to support the cause which equates to $15K that IMVU is matching in solidarity.
When asked what inspired her donation, iDezzBanks downplayed the generous amount, but acknowledges the seriousness of the global situation of the COVID19 epidemic.
I think the situation is very serious, and it was really the least I could do – I’m just grateful to have this opportunity. During this period of quarantine, we must take care of our mind, reflect, have fun (AT HOME), and take care of each other.
In our chat just today, we wanted to dig a little deeper to discover the story behind this philanthropic avatar on the platform for 10+ years.
