BTA: MrsKitty

We teamed up with a few artists and Creators for our #IMVUAdvent Calendar on Instagram. One of them was MrsKitty, who created a custom hair piece to capture the festive season. Check out her story below, Behind The Avatar.

IMVU: What’s your Avatar Name?

MrsKitty: MrsKitty

IMVU: How did you get started on IMVU?

MK: I remember searching Google for “Design games” or something similar… I forgot the exact search now, but IMVU came up and here I am, haha.

IMVU: How long have you been a creator – and how was that transition from user to creator?

MK: I’ve been a creator since 2011. I don’t feel like there was a big transition difference because I still play the game like I did when I just started. I still role-play families and visit chatrooms.

The one major difference now would be that most people know who I am when I visit a room and it’s nice to just talk to them.

IMVU: How do you describe your shop – what do you specifically create?

MK: I would describe my shop as a “Hair Utopia”, haha. I specialize in Hairs for both male and female avatars.

IMVU: What are some of your favorite pieces in your shop and why?

MK: I have so many favorite pieces that it would be better to say what my favorite piece “right now” is, which has to be “Exclusive Waves” because it’s a style I wanted to work on for so long. When I finally [created] it, it came out beautifully, and so many people in the community loved it as well.

IMVU: How often are you creating new products?

MK: It’s kind of an addiction, I create every other day at least.

IMVU: How has IMVU helped you in a personal way – if any?

MK: It has helped me to make friends in places I wouldn’t have had a chance to in normal circumstances

IMVU: What do you like about IMVU? Why?

MK: I love IMVU’s community because it’s not very judgmental, on IMVU your race, gender or sexual orientation is not important

IMVU: Any suggestions/words of advice for someone who’s just starting out as a creator?

MK: Don’t give up, just create what makes you happy even if it’s not a trend – just stay true to you.
