Great news! The All-New IMVU is once again available to 100% of users, VIP and non-VIP members alike! With record numbers of users enjoying the new 3D Chat experience, we’re pleased to have re-enabled access to all.
If you’ve already downloaded the most recent version (415.0), you shouldn’t have to do anything. The next time you log in, you should see the new 3D Chat experience. For those of you who haven’t downloaded the most recent version, just launch the 3D Chat window and a dialog box will come up prompting you to upgrade. Click “Update Now”; that’s it! The All-New 3D Chat will download and install automatically on your computer. Alternatively, you can also download it here.
Our continued priority is to ensure that everyone using the All-New IMVU 3D Chat has a great experience. Since we began our rollout of the All-New 3D Chat, we’ve received feedback from thousands of you, and many of the features you’ve requested are already in the works. I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but I looked around on the new 3D chat for a while last night and couldn’t find it. I absolutely love the new 3D chat, but what I can’t seem to find are the subcategories in the catalog? Like I can go to Female > Accessories, but I can’t get any further, to anything like, say, facial jewelry, actions, etc. How do I get to those? I don’t want to have to search for something every time, I’d rather browse and search within the subcategories? Thanks
@Rainebeau, at this time, the ability to shop within 3D Chat is supplemental; you’ll still have the ability to view the full catalog, along with the Product Detail Pages and subcategories, on the website. We’ll continue to enhance shopping from withing 3D Chat over time.

One thing about the new imvu when in cataog ive notiched you cant add things to your wish list I basically have to bring up another window once again search for it on the catalog through the web and add it there, so I might as well stay on the catalog through the web then. Cause cant seem to do it through the new imvu.
@sheenab25, correct, at this time, you can only add items to your wishlist from the website. That said, we’re currently working on some really great enhancements to this feature that will soon be available from within the new 3D Chat.
I think that the ability to sell items back, try on furniture before you buy it, and to walk freely needs to be worked on. Those are three items that really need attention.

although i like many of the features and the look of the new imvu my major investment in music over the past 3 yrs which now do not work force me to stick with an older version plus mixes can only be played w/2 in a room i enjoy listening to my music when i am designing my rooms ,which im unable to do with new versions that have mixes,i would be thrilled if you could fix the issue of music not working and update without hesitation,as a club owner also i cant afford the loss of my music….ty for your time

Should make it so when users click “dress up”, “decorate room”, “Chat now”, and “shop” they load in the home window, have those functions incorporated into the 3D scene of the home screen. When one of those options activate, it should take you to the appropriate scene (within the same window) and the “home buttons” would collapse into a menu at the top of the window. Also: “find people”, “chat rooms”, “inbox”, and “credits” should appear as an overlay on the home screen, just like the “profile” button does. The dropdown menus in the “chat-now” menu do not work properly. Example: I clicked [female, 18-24, AP, English] and got connected with an avatar [male, 31, non-AP, and he was speaking dutch]. When in public rooms or in private chats with 3+ people, when you invite it doesn’t give you an “inviting avatar” message or any message telling you if he/she declined or timed out. I noticed that a lot more often now everyone on my buddy list randomly appears offline for a minute then they all appear online again (just the ones that are online, I mean). Should add a “buddy going offline” sound. Sending avatars messages telling them who removed them from their buddy list, and people who have blocked that avatar would be nice. Add a mute button to each 3D environment/’tab’ to instantly mute the sounds coming from catalog products. The current method of muting is… stupid? I uncheck global sound, but sounds that are currently in progress, such as old catalog music, keep playing until it ends. THEN is i have sound unchecked and a sounds plays, when I enable global sound and it is triggered again, it doesn’t play. It’s highly annoying.
most remarkable thing is that you can move furniture now far away from their original place. Everything else.. well, nice to have
I have an issue. Say we want to try something on from the catalog and see how it looks with different items we already own. That option isn’t there like it is in the older versions of the messenger, I think it would be easier if we could still see our own inventories while we were trying on new things. The subcategories thing is also a good thing to add, as someone said in an earlier post. I do like the new version of the chat though so good work!
i love the new imvu…is great…i have barely crash in the new version…and the fact that you can shop and try it in the same window is awesome…great job!!!
ok…so with this yet another “new” thing…what about the Homepages..I have had more than one come to me and say that their homepage is no longer there? Developers spend large amount of time to make their page look good for shopping and then we update and it is all messed up?
