Product Page Issues

Update – 6/09 1:26 PM PDT: We’ve identified an interim fix to address this issue and are currently working to implement it. I’ll circle back with another update and more details shortly.

As a side note, we don’t think this issue impacts sales as much as you think.  In fact, internal research has shown that the majority of product purchases happen without the customer ever visiting the product detail page.

    you say your listening to developers but its obvious your not, you took away music products which people could afford, (i understand it was for legal reasons) but instead you could of changed the submitting price higher for products with sound… you brought in per-view and i know a lot of developers (pro and not) who had a problem with this and still do… then you took a HUGE sum of profit from them, this means for example people who were making 500,000 a day or week are lucky to get 100,000, now your telling the MAJORITY of developers (who PAY imvu to submit products and then PAY some profit to imvu with each sale) that they cant edit their pages that are for THEIR products how are they meant to make profit!! you are claiming it *wont affect sales* this is nothing but a lie!! of course it will effect sales you are obviously lieing to yourself and all the people who develop if you truly believe this… How is a person who is not a pro possibly compete when images mean so much.. i have spent lots of money on imvu if i cant try something on and study it, i dont buy it.. (this is coming from a person with easily 1000 plus in their inventory) and i cant believe this is how they treat us. I KNOW FOR A FACT PEOPLE WOULD CHOSE THE PRODUCT WITH THE PICTURE AND NICE PAGE OVER SOMETHING BLANK!!!!! this is one of the worst decisions i believe imvu could of ever make, they might as well spit on some of the up and coming developers again imvu has made it harder for us to make any type of profit. I believe that the person who made this decision was obliviously NOT A DEVELOPER.. it is hard and takes a lot of time to make product we should at least be able to sell them… maybe this person or persons should “actually” read all these comments and fix this. and then the person/s who made this decision should really take a hard look at their job because by the looks of these comments a lot of people want them fired, i have been using imvu for over 3 years, and study justice/law and i can tell you that this decision is COMPLETELY UN-FAIR!!!! i do like hoping on imvu and chatting, browsing and developing but if imvu keeps showing disregard to its majority of developers there wont be much of an imvu to hop onto anymore…..

    I really dont know where is the big deal with people promoting their product with nice page.. so people who been here as dev since almost 2 years.. cant make nice page anymore cause they been in hospital 4 month so obvious they lose their PRO status… but some new people coming and just selling ton of unmodified and copied product” become pro and can modify product page.. idk where is the problem doing a nice product page .. really after remove music to seel their own.. now we cant modify our own product page.. when they win money with ours… omfg

    True that IbreeI. I personaly if i don’t see the image i won’t buy it, and i don’t have time to try it to see how it looks.

    ugh!!! product page attract me to buy no matter how good the catalog icon is…work hard on it imvu…am diein of white blank product pages…ugh!!

    I am astonished and appalled at the same time for IMVU’s negligent behavior to its own clients and developers. Since my return, I have noticed strides of improvement with the interface and the capacity which those who wish to use IMVU as a messenger service operates; however, there has been a continuous staunch disdain for its Developers.

    First you wronged us with your “Developer Tokens”, a ridiculous system if I do say my self, that provides absolutely no lucrative avenue for the people who spend countless hours devoting themselves to making products that have made IMVU flourish into what it is today. Tokens which deprive Developers of THEIR hard earned effort by selling “Freebie coupons” to its customers? Did you even ask us? Did you even bother to see what WE would care to think about this horrendous system? The answer is No.

    Now again have you invaded the rights of your most dedicated supporters by alienating the “Pro” from the “Underdeveloped” by treating us like useless derelicts. This was the exact kind of ugliness that made me take my two year hiatus from IMVU and possibly made countless others quit entirely.

    I agree with that fellow IbreeI: Clearly whoever made this decision, you have absolutely -NO- idea how important pictures are and what a significant impact they make on sells. Customers are attracted by professionalism and high quality service. This encompasses a scope that goes well beyond that of the products itself into the realm of PRESENTATION and ADVERTISEMENT.

    Products themselves are nothing unless they can capture the audience and convince the said user that the product is worth merit– WHICH in turn, requires a PROFESSIONAL TOUCH and ADVERTISEMENT.

    IMVU, you truly do disgust me sometimes. Your actions are illogical, biased, and misguided. The outrage and decries of protest you see today is testament to a long list of utter disregard and a direct reflection of poor decision making.

    The catalog seems to lag more Plus the new imvu messenger I dont like the fact there is catalog with it and it gives me a hevy lags

    I know these are old posts but reading a few i became upset.
    For one, IMVU controls IMVU not the old timers, We even get stone walled, Hard at that. Pro has nothing to do with how long you have been on IMVU, it has to do with How many products you can put out and how many products are actually purchased and some other rules and requirements tossed in there too, so it’s not people like who have been on IMVU prior to 2007 calling the shots as a matter of fact if you had been here prior to 2007 you would know that we had a hude battle with IMVU regarding AP products and the right to produce adult content products. We lost. IMVU won, Look around before you say things about the old timers on IMVU, you will see a lot of them have visual protests on their HPs. So please don’t assume it’s the Old times on IMVU calling the shots here. IMVU caters only to themselves.
