As a general reminder:

- Never give out your password. NEVER. Not even to someone claiming to be IMVU Staff, since an IMVU Staff member will never ask for your password.
- Make sure you pick a password that someone cannot easily guess.
- Confirm that we have your current email address on file; starting today, when a user’s password is changed, they will now receive an alert email containing a password reset link.

To check the email address we have on file for you, 1) Click the Account Settings link at the top of your homepage, 2) Scroll down until you see the Account Tools box on the right-hand side of the screen and click the “Change Email Address” link, 3) Here you will see the email address we on file as well as the area to update your email address is the one we have is outdated.

  1. why don’t you just make it so that when you are trying to change a password, you need to use an activation code sent to you in an email in order for the pasword to be changed

    You are going to have to contact Customer Support to ask that they assist you. You contact them by clicking the Help link at the top or bottom of the page: http://www.imvu.com/catalog/parature_iframe.php?imvu_header=1

    Then click the link that says “Submit a Ticket” and then choose the appropriate ticket category. Your ticket will automatically be routed to the VIP queue and get higher priority.

  4. I changed my avatar name forgot to re-log in and now I cant use the imvu site…but I can use the messenger…I guess I have to wait for the help ticket to work…I hope it work…TT~TT

  5. well I just did that stupid thing someone claimed to be from imvu. and I gave him my pass by accident and now there useing my credit how can I stop them? I’ve change my pass word, and even my e-mail address. Could they acutally use my cred it card to? please help me.

  6. Got you beat on that alfonsocott. Someone got my info from me, and they started by just changing the password and the registered e-mail. Now they have changed the avatar name, country and message. The help ticket system is a joke. If IMVU doesn’t take care of my problem soon, EhmNald is going to change things again and be harder to find, if at all.

  10. I also have trouble with strange charges on my account ,but it says my account was disabled,but my avi pics,dont say disabled like the others ,I have been hacked,I need help I have submitted 5 tickets and gotten no response and cannot acess my account,

  12. Could we please have feature that when someone is blocked by us that they cannot visit our homepage as well.. Cuz the block feature will mean nothing if they still come to our page or send other ppl to come to our page to send messages on their behalf. I dont want a block person to still visit my hp..
