New Friends Tool
In response to the feedback many of you shared with us when we eliminated the separate Friends Window, we are pleased to announce that you can now easily access your friends from the New Friends Tool released in 424.0. Click here to download now. The Friends Tool is accessible from the lower right hand corner of the Home Screen (and in any mode) in 3D Chat (see screenshot below).
From the new Friends Tool, you can easily:
- See which of your friends are online
- Connect with friends you’ve recently chatted with
- Launch the Friends Mode
- Add new friends
- Invite friends into a specific chat
This Friends Tool will update in real time, so when new friends comes online or go offline, the Friends Tool will update immediately.
Performance Improvements
Last week we announced significant improvements to product room loading times. Long load times have historically been one of the biggest sources of community feedback, and we know smooth and immediate performance is extremely important to you. We are constantly striving to offer the best possible experience to all users, regardless of operating system, and this is one giant leap in the right direction. Initially, you had the ability to turn the new enhancements on and off while we fine tuned this feature. We’ve now finished our work, so we’re turning on the new turbo product loading times on for everyone. We look forward to your continued feedback on these performance improvements.

New Themed 3D Home Screen
Finally, we’ve recently added the ability to include “themed” graphics on the Home Screen within 3D Chat. If you take a peek today, you’ll see spooky Halloween themed graphics! Our hope is to celebrate causes and holidays that are important to our community. Please share suggestions for themes you’d like to see in the future, and we’ll try our best to include them.

I’m still having serious issues with not having seperate rooms here guys. I cant keep up with more than one room at a time the way they are stacked on the tabs. I cant sit and chat with people and still decorate a room on the side like I used to in this new system. I’ve gone back to 420 where you still have the choice of UI and seperate rooms. I know MANY people who are rolling back as well. Most of what I hear about keeping this UI has to do with ‘getting used to’ the set up. Getting used to and actually liking or prefering are too different things. Unless and until they can seperate the chatrooms again I’m stayingback . I’m hoping the number of people going back to the older views will give them an idea of how many longer term, PAYING customers are really unhappy with the new set up.
