IMVU Account Safety Reminders

We wanted to remind everyone about maintaining the security of your IMVU account. Ensuring a safe and secure experience for all IMVU members is a top priority for us. You should never give out your password to anyone. Also, please be careful when visiting non-IMVU web sites that ask for your personal or IMVU account information to obtain “free” credits or “cheats.” You can buy IMVU credits using our store or from our authorized resellers. You can also earn credits by completing partner offers, referring friends, linking your Facebook account and through many other methods on our Earn Credits page. Any other ways to get credits are not legitimate. Giving your password to anyone else, even someone who claims to be staff, could result in losing your account permanently.

So again, please note the following:

– NEVER give out your password, not even to someone claiming to be IMVU Staff, since an IMVU Staff member will never ask for your password.
– Make sure you pick a password that someone cannot easily guess.
– Never give out real-life personal or credit card information in public rooms, public groups, messages or off-site to someone indicating they are IMVU Staff.  When needed, IMVU Customer Care will only ever ask for your birth date, the last 4 digits of your credit card, and details of the payment so that we can verify your account, and we will only ask for this information in response to your phone call or Help Ticket to our Help Center.

Bottom line, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

We hope you continue to enjoy your IMVU experience in a safe manner.
