You may have recently seen a new type of ad that we’ve been running on sites like Facebook and MySpace. It features a photograph of someone in real life and an IMVU avatar that looks strikingly similar. Well, we thought it would be great fun for some of our new ads to feature real members of our community, so we are launching the Cartoonify Your Avatar Contest!!
To enter the contest you must:
- Submit 2 photos: one of you (sorry, since we’ll need your permission to use your image if you win, you can’t submit a photo of someone else!) and a second one of an IMVU avatar that looks similar.
- IMVU will judge the submissions based upon the likeness of the 2 images, the unique design of the avatar, and how exceptional the two images are.
- Please send your submissions to cartoonifycontest@imvu.com (send the largest, best quality photos you can, minimum size submitted should be 640×480 pixels, and poses that focus on the head and face looking directly at the camera are best). Keep in mind that these ads will be running all over the internet, so they need to be appropriate for all ages.
Winners will receive the following:
First Place – 50,000 credits
Second Place – 20,000 credits
Third Place – 10,000 credits
Of course, these winners will also win bragging rights with all of their friends when they see their cartoonified ad on popular websites!
We’ll accept submissions starting today through Sunday, May 24th. Winners will be announced on May 26th.
Please note, if you are selected as a winner, IMVU will ask you to sign a release form, giving us all rights to distribute and use the images for advertising and publicity.

what happens if u don’t get 2 be in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place do u still get credits or not?
Unfortunately not, this contest ended long ago and only had prizes for the first 3 place, sorry!
ahh i need to get a update photo of my self i seem to put on a few pounds well i think i can edit my photo before enter the contest as an designer should look like a super star lol .
